Giving Thanks Friday

This week I am thankful for:

An afternoon movie date with my Mr. Husband.  So fun to get swept away from the real world for a couple of hours.

Only eating a couple handfuls of theater popcorn.  I had a small cloth bag (you have to be quiet when you are sneaking in your own food - shhh, don't tell!) of raw almonds to keep me from indulging.

The amazing meteor shower.  I read about it at the last minute and looking out the window before bed I saw one streak by.  Hubby was already asleep but I had to sneak out into a lounge chair (thankfully it was dark because I was far from appropriately dressed!) and take in the view.  I have to admit to soft "Oh's" every time one appeared.  Nature puts on the best show ever!

A thrift shopping adventure.  I will show you my finds in a post next week.

A hard working husband.  We bought a light to go above our dining table several weeks ago that has been sitting in the box since.  I have been anxious to have it up but he has been SO busy with work and extra projects.  This being a vacation week for us, he spent half a day in the VERY hot attic getting the light installed and wired.  He is a keeper : )

The teenager and her mom in line behind me at Home Goods.  A lively beat came on the speakers and I heard the girl say to her mom, "I'm gonna dance.  You know I am."  The mom:  "You are so silly!"  The girl:  "I am going to."  And me turning around:  "Go ahead.  Dance."  They both smile - the teen thrilled and the mom slightly mortified.  But seriously, if we can't bust a  move once a while what is life, really?  : )

Tiny goats just minutes from our house.  They are THE cutest things EVER!

Vacation.  How can you NOT be thankful for that!  We have had a great week so far with a a full weekend left.  (Happy dance with me you all!)

What are you thankful for?

May your weekend be filled with wonder, laced with peace and bursting with love...

(Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good: his love endures forever. Psalm 118:1)

  2. Sounds like you had a great week. Wow...would I ever have loved to have seen the meteor shower. It has been too cloudy around here...plus I didn't really know where to go to see it...there are too many trees around here! This week I am thankful that hubby and I celebrated 40 years together and Dylan, my grandson is recovering at home after having an acute asthma attack which landed him in the PICU for a couple of days. God is SO good!

  3. What a wonderful thing to see the meteor shower :) There is so much to see in nature if we look for it. I am thankful we are both our bad colds which have laid us low for a week or more, we were able to get out and about yesterday.
Enjoy the rest of your vacation :)

  6. The goats are adorable, and I love the idea of cloth bags for movie theater sneak-snacks. :) I am thankful for weekends, my tomato plants, and my family who love me even when I'm testy.

I am thankful for the fact that we are going to have some serious down time next week and just enjoy summer and one another. Long overdue!
I'm also very thankful today for the heavy rains. Our farmers definitely need it as they are in a stage 3 drought! Rain, rain, rain!!
    Happy Saturday, friend :)
