Giving Thanks Friday

This week I am thankful for:

A soft, warm blanket keeping me cozy while the rains pour and the winds blow.

A new creative project keeping hands and mind busy and collaborating with Mr. Husband is a welcome bonus!

A birthday celebration for my Mom (grateful for her too!) with lots of laughter and love.

Neighbors that we know well and those we have yet to meet waving as they pass by - a simple yet meaningful act of kindness.

First Responders.  Living in a rural area it is just a fact that an ambulance will take a little while to get there so the trained First Responders often arrive quickly and are able to perform potential life saving measures.

The warm cuddle of a visiting grand-dog - what an example of unconditional love those pooches are!

People giving (what may seem like) small amounts that pool together to meet great needs.  The hands and feet of Jesus in action.

The text message from Mr. Husband that his co-worker sent us some (homemade and delicious) egg rolls to go with tonight's dinner.  I just happen to have the ingredients for some Pad Thai so we will be eating very well this Friday night!

My favorite color - October...

What are you thankful for?

May your weekend be filled with wonder, laced with peace and bursting with love...

(Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good: his love endures forever. Psalm 118:1)

  2. I so look forward to sitting back, relaxing and just smiling as I read your posts, Mindy. I get excited the minute I see a notice in my inbox.
I am grateful for the good health of my family members and the happiness that is surrounding us.
I am grateful that my little nephews are growing into fine young men but they haven't reached that age where their Aunty is bothersome, lol. They still text jokes and photos during the week and even talk on the phone occasionally. Watching them play hockey and practise their karate moves is awe inspiring. Life is good.
PS. My Batman is all I could want and more :) Happy Friday!

  3. My favorite color is October too...in fact, I see by the photo of your lovely mums that we picked out EXACTLY the same colors!! I am thankful for SO MANY things but what comes to mind immediately is the fact that Aaron celebrates his one year anniversary of sobriety on Halloween! God is SO good!! Have a wonderful weekend, sweet friend! ♥♥♥

  4. Always a joy to come for a visit with you, dear Mindy!
Your thankful heart radiates the goodness of our Great God.

I am thankful for a husband that understands the needs of my mother and allows me to do what I need to do on her behalf.
I am thankful for this time of the season when the trees are completely bare, yet they grace the glory of God.
I am thankful for my sisters who grace my heart with their own uniqueness.
My sister and I spent the day together today and we were just talking about the joy of having a grateful heart in everything, and what a difference it makes when we have the right attitude in all things that come our way.

    The Lord bless you~~

  5. I am thankful for the technology that permits my little mother to have what would have been major surgery, without having to cut her open. (That sounds brutal but it's what happens). Mindy I loved your joyful thanksgiving list today, you are always positive and an inspiration.

  6. Hi Mindy!! Your favorite color is October? That doesn't make sense on one hand, but on the other...all the sense in the world.
I'm grateful for my family, as we all carry each other in this hard time. I'm grateful for my husband who is partnering with me through our kitchen and family room reno, and it's been 6 weeks without the kitchen. Ugh. But we are helping each other!
I am so enjoying the colors of leaves, and the milder weather. I feel so blessed to be able to walk through our arboretum and feel the peace in nature.
Have a great week my friend,
    Ceil

Thankful for my amazing hubby who is always by my side. We will be taking on another bathroom remodel. Thankful, my Mother is doing well and thankful for my sweet doggies who keep me company. Thankful for so many things. The list goes on. Happy November.
