What I learned in March (2016)

This month I learned:

As the sunshine came streaming through the windows of what I thought was a fairly tidy house, I realized it is no accident that Spring sunshine and Spring cleaning arrive at the same time of year...

A blogger friend can turn sometimes turn into (a much appreciated) prayer partner for a similar need we share.  (Thank you Debby - you blessed my heart!)

There are wonderful little eyebrow shavers out there (I got mine on Amazon) that are a wonder at shaping your eyebrows BUT they are very dangerous when you decide to scrape off just a bit of dry skin above an eyebrow and while you are concentrating on this you get carried away and before you know it a small portion of said eyebrow goes missing...yeah, so that happened.

Eyebrow pencils work wonders in covering up "mistakes" that happen to, ahem, some of us : )

It is okay to be the person along the road that the Good Samaritan stops for.  Most of us are natural helpers but it is okay to be the one on the receiving end as well.

Meeting someone with your same first name creates an instant bond no matter the age difference.

When you pick up your watering can (to water some new strawberry plants you are adding to the current bed) and the spout is a bit clogged and you think it is a rock so you swish the can around and proceed to water it is quite possible you should look inside first.  After watering I decided to swish the can again and empty it out to retrieve the rock.  Turns out the "rock" was actually an adorable, medium sized (and probably oh so dizzy after all my swishing of him) frog! He sat, understandably so, a bit dazed for quite a while so I ran for the camera to "capture" him but alas - when I returned he had, obviously, retreated for safer digs.   Poor guy!

I hope the month of March was a good one for you all.  Did you learn anything special?

I am linking up with Emily from Chatting at the Sky for her:  What I learned series here.

  2. LOL, been there with the eyebrow disaster, Mindy. Sometimes you can get carried away when you're watching TV at the same time, ha!
I saw those very dusty windows today when the sun was extra bright so I know what I'll be doing this weekend!
Your writing always makes me smile, friend. Thanks for the giggles at the end of a long day :)

  3. Hahaha! You make me laugh! I waxed half my eyebrow off right before our engagement pictures. All my friends wondered if I was getting cold feet because they said I looked so weird and confused in the pictures. Nope. Just missing half my eyebrow! I would’ve screamed and probably launched that frog into the ride of his life across the yard!

  5. One time (ages ago when people used those metal canteens with green covers), my dad grabbed a canteen and filled it with water and carried it along on a bicycle ride that somehow morphed into a 20-mile ride. Near the end of the ride, the water in his canteen ran out, but when he shook the canteen, something was still in there. He finally shook out...a dried frog. Ew! I always check water bottles and canteens ;).

    1. Oh my! Our former pastor's wife once had a fly get into her coffee and drank it. Ever since then I always check my water on the nightstand just to be sure nothing is in it!

  8. I learned that when challenged it is better to stop and breath and then breath again before reacting. And that sometimes a third deep breath is needed.

  9. Haha! Oooh I can relate to the missing eye brow. I watched my mom shave hers when I was very young and thought that was the norm, only to find out it wasn't! I have never had nice eye brows since, but very thankful for those pencils. :-)
Your frog is darling, he's lucky to be alive.
Sounds like you're March has been eventful.
Thank you for your sweet visit and precious birthday wishes for Stephanie.
    Enjoy your day~~

  11. HI Mindy!!! I have never heard of eyebrow shapers before...I'm a bit backward in the makeup department. Sorry to hear about your unfortunate accident, but hey, you found a remedy! (When I was about four years old, I took a scissors and cut off my eyebrows. Must have looked beautiful!)
Poor little frog! But on the other hand, you may have given him the ride of his life. Like going to Six Flags?
I'm glad you have a good blog-friend who can help carry your burdens. The blogosphere an be a very supportive and encouraging place.
    God bless!
