Giving Thanks Friday

This week I am thankful for:

The crisp morning fog that greets us signaling a change of season is on the horizon.

A simple glass of fizzy juice in a vintage stemmed glass.  It takes the beverage experience to a whole other level.

The drivers of the faithful yellow school bus picking up and dropping off the little and big.  What precious cargo they transport.

Bare toes in the warm summer sand with a view of beautiful blue that stretches beyond sight.

A husband and son-in-law willing to spend their after work hours and weekends to renovate my parents bathroom while they are on vacation.  (Can't wait for them to see it!)

Firefighters:  The local volunteers who work full time jobs, spend much of their free time in training and are often called out in the middle of the night to save property and households and sometimes those inside.  The full time firefighters fighting fires everywhere from commercial buildings and businesses, to homes and even on the water. The wild land and hot shot firefighters who fight grueling wildfires, often in the hottest of temperatures, on land, by helicopter and jumping from planes even.  And on this anniversary of September 11, all the brave heroes who responded on that day, many whom were injured or lost their lives serving and protecting others.  We will not forget.  We salute you all.

What are you thankful for?

May your weekend be filled with wonder, laced with peace and bursting with love...

(Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good: his love endures forever. Psalm 118:1)

  6. I really enjoyed your post, Mindy and the pic makes me long to be out on the water.
This week I am thankful that it's cooled down a little and the rain today is forcing me to take a breath and relax today.
I'm thankful that my little nephews are making a smooth transition into their new school after moving to a new house (so hard for kids these days!).
Like you, I am thankful for the firefighters. Their jobs are one of the toughest.
Thanks, Mindy. I love your Giving Thanks Fridays!

  9. Hi Mindy! What a great gift for your parents! Will it be a complete surprise, or are they expecting it?
I am so thankful for my family, and the addition of two little precious boy-grandchildren this summer. I'm also thankful for the people who are taking in the refugees from Syria, and pray for those who will not.
My BIL was a fire-fighter a few years ago, and I know how hard that job is. Not to mention dangerous. We all should be so grateful to the volunteers!!
    Blessings my friend,
    Ceil
