Giving Thanks Friday

This week I am thankful for:

I know I listed them recently but I am so loving the neighboring goats and NOW the new babies that they are producing.  I love hearing their little "baaa" as they follow close to their mama's.

The lovely Dawn from Beyond Grace who helped me out with a tutorial link which I greatly needed and for Debby from My Favorite Things who took the time to track down my e-mail address and alert me to a blogger/google+ issue that needed some repair.  You ladies are great!

Music.  It truly blesses my soul.  Grateful for those willing to share their gift with us.

Food, glorious food  I mentioned to my husband one evening that I wish we didn't have to eat - translation being I really did not want to cook that night!  Truth is, not only do we need nutrition but we truly get to enjoy the sights, tastes and smells of what we eat.  And this time of year I am savoring the fresh green asparagus, the baby lettuces springing up and the the sprouts grown on our counter top.

My husband's willing hands and heart, using both to help out his widowed mom with household repairs and lawn work.  He has also done some of the same for my parents.  He is a good son/son-in-law and I love him for it.

A $10 off $10 or more coupon for a major department store - it's like free money!  Of course I spent more than the ten dollars but found a cute maxi skirt on sale for just $19.99 and with my coupon I spent just over $10.  For a skirt!  Yay me!

The newness of spring with all the sprouting plants, flowering trees, nest building/egg laying birds and newborn baby animals.  What a glorious reminder that God makes all things new and continues that work in me.

What are you thankful for?

May your weekend be filled with wonder, laced with peace and bursting with love...

(Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good: his love endures forever. Psalm 118:1)

  2. MINDY!! I love your bargain on the maxi-dress. Those are so 'in' these days. I don't have one, but maybe I'll manage to grab one yet.
I'm thankful for the support of friends and family. What would I do without them? And thankful too for healing. I have walked around without a cane for two days now, and it's going well!
Also thankful for the weekend! Hope you have a great one...pet one of those goats for me :)

  3. I love a thankful heart. It makes me want to stop and be thankful. Except for the goats. We raised them and they get into a ton of mischief! I'm thankful I don't have them anymore. Have a great weekend!

  4. Aww...you are so sweet to mention me...I am glad you were able to get the issue fixed. Well, you already know I am thankful for the lovely springtime...it was sooo very nice here today and I was able to for a hike and took more photos. I also am in to maxi skirts...they are so comfy and glad they came back in style! I remember wearing maxi dresses (also had a long maxi coat) back in the late 60's :) I hope you have a blessed weekend!

  5. Look at that precious little goat, and to see the babies, how wonderful for you.
Maxi skirt, hmmm,I know I should remember them?
I must look into those and refresh my memory.:-)

    I am thankful
For the fresh berries at the grocery store, oh the blackberries right now are wonderful!
For my grandson who chose to join the choir and he's only 11.
For Mother's Day coming up, I love to spread the love, even to my daughters who are great mother's.
For spring time! All things are new.

    Enjoy your week end, Mindy.

  6. Hi Mindy,
I love seeing all the newborn animals as well, especially the goats and lambs. There is something so precious about watching them trying to keep up with their mom and their little bleating sounds.
Love the deal on the dress! I'm thinking I need to get back to sewing and you may have inspired me. I love wearing skirts in the spring and summer and they are so easy to whip up on the machine.
I love that ball hockey season is here and I'm watching my 12 year old nephew who has grown so big and strong. His voice is changing and hearing him yell encouragingly back and forth with his team mates always makes me smile.
I love that my mind is just whirling with recipes these days. I had a bit of a writer's block for awhile but now I just want to cook and shoot pics every day. And some of them are deliciously decadent, lol. Bacon even!
I love coming here to touch base with life, with you, my friend, and with others to see what they are thankful for. Yours is my most favorite place in blogland because it's so genuine. Thanks for keeping it real, Mindy :)

  7. Woohoo! A new maxi-skirt. I swear they are way more comfy than jeans and cute as a button-go you! A good husband is a treasure beyond measure. I'm curious what your google/blogger issue was because I probably have it too. Enjoy the rest of your week, friend!
