Giving Thanks Friday

This week I am thankful for:

The little grids printed on the backside of wrapping paper - makes it SO much easier to cut straight lines.

An afternoon of sharing my home with lovely friends, a time to share a meal and share our hearts.  So thankful for the gift of friendship.

A small gift exchange between these friends and myself and the way the two of them so thoughtfully chose things that look beautiful in our home - like the above ornament : )  Giving gifts is one thing; putting thought and love behind those gifts takes them to a whole other level.

Our warm (and very wet and windy) weather.  We hit 60 degrees this week - a record setting December and a warm reprieve from the previous week that found our temps down into the teens.

A fellow shopper who took the time to come over where I was trying on a jacket to tell me how nice it looked on me and went so well with my hairstyle.  I have a "feeling" I may find this very jacket under the tree come Christmas morning : )

Reading glasses (that I have been thankful for before...) that possibly should be worn for more than reading these days given the fact that while making a sandwich the other day I went to pick up a stray seed from the bread and it started crawling away.  The "seed" was actually a tiny bug!

VERY thankful I did not actually eat the above "seed"!

The generous in communities everywhere who are filling bins with toys and food to be shared with those in need. Praying that the spirit of giving will last throughout the year.

What are you thankful for?

May your weekend be filled with wonder, laced with peace and bursting with love...

(Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good: his love endures forever. Psalm 118:1)

  3. Hi Mindy! Oh boy. Moving seeds? Not a fun thing to find. And what a lovely ornament from your friend. They are such a gift to us, aren't they?
I am thankful for my family (my sister is in with her son), a new grand-baby on the way, blog friends like you, a wonderful husband. I am richly gifted!
I want to see a photo of your jacket, if you get it from Santa!!

  4. LOL, I seem to remember a piece of fluff outside that you mistook for a bird last summer, Mindy, so it's definitely time for more than reading glasses! You are so funny!
It is so nice when a total stranger comes up with a friendly compliment. I love chatting with people in the stores. You never know what special kind of person you will come across.
Btw, those grids on the paper were put there for people who need glasses!
    Happy Holidays, sweet friend.
PS. I`m thankful for everything! Life is just plain wonderful :)

  5. I second all your thankfulness! The grid on the paper is genius for someone like me who is not a good wrapper. I am thankful that all my presents are wrapped with the exception of a couple that haven't arrived yet. Have a blessed week!

  7. The "seed" reminds me of that wise old saying. What's worse than finding a worm in your apple? Finding half a worm in your apple!

    Ugh.

  8. What a sweet gratitude list, Mindy! I'm with you on the reading glasses. I'm incredibly thankful for mine and find myself wearing them for many other activities these days. I would definitely recommend you wearing them for all future kitchen endeavors ;)!
