30 Day Photo Challenge-ish

DAY 5:   Morning Sky

I really wanted to rise just before the sun came up to capture a beautiful morning sun,
but the sheets were cool and the blanket warm and my head felt so right on the pillow.
The sun isn't all the way up here but is outshining the clouds before it.

The sky looks like it has been caked with powdered sugar here -
a lovely contrast against the vivid blue.

And just like that, the "sugar" is spun into mounds of glorious cotton candy...

  1. Mindy, this is beautiful! How quickly the clouds can change. I lived lying on the grass with my dear grandmother, and making things out of the clouds. Such beautiful childhood memories.
My grandmother is 97 and still living.
I enjoyed your visit by the way, thank you for your kind words.
I sure am enjoying this month with you. :-)
    Sweet blessings, Debbie

  2. So pretty! When I was a kid and we would travel to big cities where there was white smoke and black smoke billowing from the factory smoke stacks, I thought they were cloud factories, lol. Some made sunny day clouds and others made rainy day clouds. It wasn't until I mentioned it to my parents and the look of surprise on their faces told me that I was misguided!
I love laying on the grass with kids and asking them to find shapes in the clouds - you really discover who has the best imagination in a hurry. Thanks for a little trip down memory lane, Mindy. I'm really enjoying your photography series!

  3. Hi Mindy! I don't know if I'm inspired, or hungry! Probably both. Your comparison to cotton candy and sugar really fits. You may have gotten up late, but you still got some great shots.
    Blessings,
    Ceil

  5. Lovely!

Love the symbolism of the sunlight overcoming the clouds.
