Giving Thanks Friday (on Sunday)

This week I am thankful for:

The impending birth of two new great nieces.  What fun it will be to meet them,  snuggle them and watch them grow.

My daughter treating me to Chipotle Grill.  I had yet to discover this gem and the veggie bowl was really good.  Time spend with my daughter - even better.

God's sense of humor.  Just minutes after commenting to someone how I want to really listen to people, to really hear them, the phone rings with that very challenge (the caller ID revealing a call you might rather ignore).  Thankful my ears and heart were open to one hurting.

Pinterest recipes.  (I see to have a food theme going on here.  I think I am ready for lunch!)  I made lentil tacos this week and just loved them.  My husband even thought they were pretty good and he loves beef tacos.

Eye doctors.  This week I was walking by the kitchen window and caught a glimpse of a yellowish bird on a limb of the neighbors tree.  I was happy thinking of the spring birds returning.  I glanced out at it a second time while carrying laundry past the window.  The third time I passed by I stopped because the bird had not moved.  After a much closer inspection, turns out that "bird" was a loose piece of white bark with a yellowish underside.  Yes, I will be calling for an appointment this week!  : )

Those willing to speak out  and educate against slavery and human trafficking.  The statistics are staggering, sobering and so very sad.  Thankful for those making a difference.

The mini yellow daffodils blooming their little hearts out and the hope of spring to come.

What are you thankful for?

May your weekend be filled with many reasons to give thanks!

  1. I have 4 great nieces. I know you are excited to meet the little ones.
Glad you and your daughter enjoyed lunch together. I've never eaten at Chipolte's.
Just recently, I went in a store where everything there is made by women who have been rescued from human trafficking.
I hope you will enjoy a nice week.

  3. Oh Mindy! I had to laugh at your bird sighting, you have no idea how many times I have done that! I keep glasses by the back window now, but sometimes I don't put them on. You know, maybe it's better to live thinking you saw the bird, right?

Congrats on the newest members of your family. What is better than babies??
    Happy lunch :)

  4. Oh how fun to soon have two great nieces :) And your daffodils are lovely! They are my favorite Spring flower and they always manage to put a smile on my face.

Your list of thanks always blesses my heart because it is a constant reminder that there is so much to be thankful for!

I am thankful for precious relationships with friends and family, for hot coffee on a cold, windy day, a sink with running water to wash my dishes in, and prayer - the opportunity and privilege to talk with our Savior.

    Love and hugs to you!

  7. I am thankful for your sense of humour, Mindy! Been there, done that - TOO many times! Congratulations on your great nieces - they will keep you smiling for sure.
I am thankful that spring is almost here. People who are homeless have had an extra difficult winter and I'm thankful that the local governments and non-profits have stepped up to provide shelter for them.
I am thankful for friends who stick by you no matter what. Those are the friends worth fighting for.
Have a wonderful week, Mindy. Hugs.
