Giving Thanks Friday

This week I am thankful for:

My handy hubby and his woodworking skills.  I show him the picture and he makes it.  (Stay tuned for pictures of my wanna be Pottery Barn day bed in progress)

People who feel comfortable to just "stop by".

The wife of one of my husband's co-workers and her amazing skill at making delicious egg rolls AND her willingness to share with us.  Yum!

A pair of warm, comfy slippers at the end of a long day.  Ahh, happy feet...

The gift of music and those who share.  It can take an upside down day and make it right-side up.

A beautiful e-mail from a blog friend that blessed my socks right off.   (Hi Robyn!)

The hope that Jesus brings into every situation.  The hope that He is...

What are you thankful for?

May your weekend be filled with many reasons to give thanks!

(Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good: his love endures forever. Psalm 118:1)

  1. Mindy, I have a neighbor who just stops by too. I love how comfortable she is with us. I never worry about the house being a mess or being in my pj's. I'm always just happy to see her.

This week I am thankful that God showed me how a hard week can turn into something totally unexpected.

    1. I love how God works : ) I also love friends or neighbors who are stopping by to see us - they never notice the mess because it's us they are there to see.

  2. Hi Mindy,

I'm so glad to see your thankful post back because honestly, I rely on it to keep me on track.

I love people who stop by too but I wish my house was always 'stop by' ready, lol. Or perhaps I should learn just to not let the little things stress me.

I love music too, and play the piano and guitar but I seem to have lost my singing voice after a bout of pneumonia a couple years ago so now everyone has to put up with my cracked warbling!

Mindy, you made me cry again. Our email exchanges were the highlight of my week as well and your friendship means more than I can say.

I am very thankful to an invitation from my American cousins today. We will be going to Grosse Point Park in Michigan to celebrate Thanksgiving with about 26 fun loving, hooligan cousins. I doubt I will ever be the same after a weekend with these fabulous folks.

Have a great weekend, my treasured friend.

    xoxo

    1. My husband plays guitar and I love listening to him play. We used to have a small group over to play music and while I didn't play, I loved to listen and provide refreshments. One of the young men would joke when someone asked what I played - she plays the radio. Haha, very true : )

  3. Hi Mindy! Yay for Robin!! We are extra blessed if we have good friends who support and love us along the way.

I am thankful that we are safe in the house as a storm rages. No power outage either. That is a miracle!! I am also thankful for the faith that God has in me. He thinks I can do wonderful things, even though I am not so sure about that.

And I am thankful for friends who anticipate needs and just go and do it. Fearless! I love that.
    Blessings!

    1. Thankful with you that you came through the storm safely and for no loss of electricity. We lose ours often in a windstorm so we have invested in a small generator. It will run all the basics. You sound like you have amazing friends!

  5. What a beautiful post. I'm thankful with you for all those wonderful blessings in your life. I'm also thankful for my husband who never grows weary with the physical struggles I sometimes face. He never makes me feel like a burden. He just swoops in and saves the day when I've had a rough one. I know not everyone in my position has that. I'm grateful.
