Giving Thanks Friday (on Saturday)

This week I am thankful for:

Thunder and lightening.   We had a thunder and lightening storm here Thursday afternoon that lasted into the wee hours of Friday morning.  It knocked out the power several times and we were without internet or landline phones, which is why no "Giving Thanks Friday" on Friday.  The awe inspiring lightening display and booming peals of thunder always remind me of God's great power and majesty.  It also reminds me that I am not in control...

The new greenhouse (or as my husband has named it, the playhouse which is probably more accurate).  I am just starting to get it set up but just feel so much joy spending time inside that place already.

Green Matcha tea.  Cooler mornings have me drinking more hot tea again and this is one of my favorites.  Plain please, no milk, no sugar.

The big yellow school bus driving by once again.  It's not the bus itself but the order that September brings and I have been craving it.  I have been enjoying all first day of school photos and stories that friends and family have been posting on Facebook.  Priceless.

Medical professionals who work after hours providing care for a tiny niece with a fractured arm and wrist and a Dad with an infection in his leg but thankfully no blood clot.  Our injuries and illnesses don't always occur during 9-5 hours and I am grateful to those who choose to serve during the off hours.

The unconditional love of God and those who are willing to share it with others in that same exact way ~ unconditionally.  Praying you will feel that love this week.

Rest.   My husband has this week off from work and we have one last chance for a bit of rest and relaxation in the midst of finishing up some before-winter-comes projects.  There will be no Giving Thanks Friday post next week but, believe me, I will be thankful whatever we are doing : )  See you back around the 16th for a regular post!

What are you thankful for?

May your weekend be filled with many reasons to give thanks!

  1. Have a wonderful week. My husband also has this week off and has assured me that although he will be doing work around here, we will be going away for at least a couple of days of r &r. Assuming we can find a goat sitter/milker. :)

  2. That greenhouse is beautiful! And it would be my playhouse too! Can't wait to hear what you put in it. Have a great week with your hubby!

I am thankful we have had a great day today without too much to do so we could take a walk, put in some mums and grab dinner and ice cream out. Thankful for no rush!

  3. Oh, I love your new greenhouse, Mindy! Promise that you'll show us what you decide to grow in there, please.

I am thankful that Fall is coming. I love the beautiful colours and the crisp air on a sunny day.

I am thankful for a relaxing weekend so far. It rained yesterday so we cleaned house and then watched movies. Today it's gorgeous outside so time to wash some windows before it gets too cold.

Hope you're enjoying your weekend too, my friend.

  5. Hi Mindy! your playhouse looks AWESOME! What a place of peace and relaxation it will be for you. And a great place to quietly meet the Lord.

Hope everyone is feeling better after the doctor visits? Your little niece? I feel so bad for her. It's so sad when they can't understand what is happening to them.

Enjoy your time off, my friend! See you next week :)
