Giving Thanks Friday

This week I am thankful for:

Stella and Joey (the daughter's dogs):  On a day where I might be feeling a bit stressed, I can't help but feel better when showered with the unconditional affection (and a bit of unwanted licking...) by these cute little pups.

The young man from our church who left for basic training this week and the beautiful prayer send off by one who has been where he stands.  There was a day when you could enlist in the military and have a good chance of not seeing active combat.  In today's world that is certainly not the case.  Thankful for those who choose to serve anyway.  May God bless them and their families.

(What we call) Mud Pie and a weeknight birthday celebration for two nephews and one niece.  Always thankful for time with extended family.

An unexpected visit from a good friend and her daughter.  Such fun discussing home decor while the daughter dreams of her own house one day.  Also thankful for the fresh berries they brought with them.

Pouring rain on a warm summer day.  I love to open the windows and drink in the sound and smell...Equally thankful that the sun is showing herself again today.

Peace.  Peace in the midst of chaos.  Peace that passes all understanding.  Peace and The One who supplies it.

What are you thankful for?

May your weekend be filled with many reasons to give thanks!

(Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good: his love endures forever. Psalm 118:1)

  1. Hi Mindy! I love the rain too. We could use some!

I am thankful for my family. My brother and nephew are staying with us this weekend for some bonding time with my Dad and the golf course!

    Happy weekend, my friend :)

  3. Yes, I am thankful for PEACE! Mainly because I know it is not from me but a God who isn't stressed or overwhelmed. Amen to that!

  5. I am thankful that a close friend delivered a beautiful baby boy this week. Both are doing well and his big sister (3 years old) is thrilled and already a big (and bossy! lol) help.

I am thankful that the man in my life shows me how much he cares each and every day. It is amazing to feel the strength of true, selfless love.

I am also thankful that my little nephew won a trophy when his team came in second in ball hockey. His happy face made my heart skip a beat and brought tears to my eyes.

I hope your weekend is fabulous so far, Mindy. And thank you always for the kind comments you leave on my blog.

  8. What a sweet post, Mindy! Love the picture too. What I am thankful for today is how God is able to coordinate things and show me glimpses of himself in the everyday little things-like a song that matches a verse I have been meditating on the last couple of weeks. Love it!
